Hi,

Just thought I'd introduce our team. We are Keith and Sylvia and along with Lenny our white Discovery we are looking forward to heading to the Pyrenees and meeting everyone next week.

Team Roadrunners Empty Turbo Lenny

Post  Ditch Diver Sat Oct 08, 2011 4:48 am

For those who were on the Pyrenees or Wales trips you will know that Lenny is somewhat underpowered at the moment. I am sure that it is the turbo at fault, at least the wastegate isn't working properly. So I have decided to get it reconditioned but before committing to it I thought I would try to remove it but I can only get three of the four nuts off. The other one probably would be OK but I can't get a ring spanner on it It's the back bottom nut - anyone any suggestions? )Plan B when I get time is to take the whole manifold off and attack it on the bench but if anyone has any better ideas let me know ....

and contrary to popular belief and the tone of the post Lenny is actually the Land Rover not the Driver although his waste gate issues are no laughing matter Shocked Shocked Shocked

I went for plan B in the end and removed the whole manifold. It was then quite easy to get off what I needed to. It is now with the turbo people Kieran and James use so we will see what the problem was and how big the bill will be by the end of the week What a Face

Turbo now refitted, they seems to have done a good job. Its all nice and shiny, performane has improved but I still think I have a problem with fuel, maybe air geting in .....
